Arnold Tsunga

Arnold Tsunga is the director for Africa of the International Commission of Jurists. After working as a lawyer for 14 years, he joined Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights as founding director. He also worked as the acting Executive Secretary of the Law Society of Zimbabwe. He sat on the boards of civil society groups in Zimbabwe, and currently on the boards of international human rights groups. He has suffered persecution as a human rights defender and has received a number of awards, notably the Martin Ennals Award in 2006.
