Philippe Currat

Philippe Currat is the Chair of the Martin Ennals Foundation. He is a lawyer at the Geneva bar association and member of its Human Rights Commission, where he focuses mainly on monitoring conditions of detention and promoting the rights of migrants and asylum seekers. He was the commission’s vice-president from 2014 to 2016. Member and former Secretary-General (December 2012 – February 2017) of the International Criminal Bar, he’s been active building an effective and institutional presence of the defence at the International Criminal Court. Philippe Currat has also been legal adviser to the Prosecutor of the Special Court for Sierra Leone. Born in Geneva, he is a Swiss citizen.
