Front Line Joins the Jury of the Martin Ennals Award
The Martin Ennals Award is pleased to announce that Front Line – the International Foundation for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders, based in Ireland – has joined the Jury of the Martin Ennals Award for Human Rights Defenders (MEA), the main award of the human rights movement. The Martin Ennals Award is a unique collaboration among the world's leading non-governmental human rights organizations: Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Human Rights First, International Federation for Human Rights, World Organization Against Torture, International Commission of Jurists, German Diakonie, International Service for Human Rights, International Alert, and Huridocs. Front Line's joining is therefore a welcome strengthening of the MEA's capacity to provide 'protective publicity' to Human Rights Defenders. For further information see: www.martinennalsaward.org , or contact Martin Ennals Foundation, info@martinennalsaward.org Front Line is a strong organization that has built an excellent reputation in a short time. It was founded in Dublin in 2001 with the specific aim of protecting Human Rights Defenders, people who work, non-violently, for any or all of the rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). Front Line aims to address some of the needs identified by defenders themselves, including protection, networking and training; see website: www.frontlinedefenders.org |
